Process of formation of new individuals by sexual or asexual means, which can repeat the process in their own turn

Patterns of Reproduction

• Asexual Reproduction

  • Under this mode of reproduction, the reproductive units may consist of any portion of the parent body.

  • Example: Amoeba.

• Sexual Reproduction

  • Most higher organisms, including humans, reproduce sexually by the production of gametes.

  • The gametes are sex cells, such as sperm and egg.
