Color elements- Color, line, shape, space, value, texture, form

Color- the element of art is made from lighting striking a object going into your eye

. I Three properties of Color- Hue, intensity, value

Hue- name given to color

intensity- vividness or brightness of a the color

Low intensity- more dull and gray

Value- brightness or darkness of a color hue

Shade- hue with black

tint- hue with white

primary color- blue, yellow, red

secondary color- orange, violet, green 

intermediate color- every other color

Color schemes- combination of two or more colors that are next to each other on the color wheel

monochromatic- one color that domaines the drawing while having different versions of itself

complementary- one color that domaines the drawing while having different versions of itself yet creating dynamic contrast and disharmony

achromatic- grays without color

chromatic- grays with color

Value contrast- degree of lightness and darkness in art. Also degrees of grays

value pattern- agreement of order form lightness and darkness

Chiaroscuro- way of making a illusion of three dimensional shapes(modeling)

tenebrism- hardcore chiaroscuro. A more dramatic use of value pattern than chiaroscuro. The artist goes rapidly from higlighting to deep shadow.

Lines and curve- width, direction, length

Line- markes that span a distance between two points(or the path of a moving point). Pertains to the use of various markes, outlines and implied lines in artowkr and design. There are 3 properites; width, direction. and length.

Contour line- used to show edges of an object(linear art)

painterly line- soft edges that are emplied

axis line- lines that ttraced through a object/drawing

vertical- strength up and down

horizontal- calm side to side

Diagonal- tension

. curved- flowing movement

texture- touch of a 3D art work

Actual texture- surface felt by physical touch

visual texture- face texture on art by mediums

trompe Loeil- copying nature themed in art

 Shape- area in a 2D space that can be understood by edges; also by line,forms,space,value,color,and texture

Geometric shapes shapes that relate to geometry

organic shapes- Irregular shape that are free and found in nature

Form- volume of a art work; can be done by shading and or modeling 

Space- area provided to a artist for a purpose

Actual space- 3D

Implied Space- space or depth artist made

Positive space- areas that have objects and or form

Negative space- are in between, around, through, or within an object

Monochromatic- A manner of using color in which one color(hue) dominates the work of art and is sometimes combined with its various tints and shades.

Analogous- The combination of two or more colors that lie adjacent to one another on the color wheel. This creates a feeling of harmony.

principles of art- visual art the rules, tools, and or guidelines that artists use to organize the elements of art in an artwork.

Balance- way of combining elements to form a type of equilibrium or stability to work of art.

symmetrical- (formal balance) two halves of a work of art that balance each other out by the elements

asymmetrical- (informal balance) weights by the value, shape, and object within two halves of a drawing

Radial- (circular) object positioned within the center in which radiates outward

emphasis- contrasting elects are used to focus the viewer attention within a drawing

Harmony- combining similar elements creates wholeness/ connection within the drawing by slow changes within contrast.

Movement- creates the look and feeling of action

Rhythm- placement of repeated elements in a work of art to cause visual tempo or beat.

Proportion- the relationship of certain elements to whole and to each other.

Variety- a way of breaking apart a artwork by giving it different colors or shapes

Gradation- combing elects by using a series of gradual changes in those elements

Unity- The Look and feel of wholeness or ones in a work of art.
