Konrad Lorenz: Imprinting Theory

A large clutch of goose eggs, half incubated by a mother goose, half artificially. A human was the first thing the artificial half saw, they followed the researcher everywhere even when introduced to other geese.

/ Guiton (1996)

Chicks were fed using rubber gloves, the chicks then imprinted on them. The chicks were later found attempting to mate with the gloves though this was later corrected.
