Crime and Sin

What is crime?

Crime can be defined as an action that breaks the law. Laws are made by the government of a country. Laws are there to protect the weak, give guidance to acceptable behaviour, and allow people to live safely without fear. An example of a crime is murder. As a result, they can be different from one country to another. What is lawful in one country may not be in another. This also can change over time.

What is sin?

Sin is an action which goes against the will of God. Some sins are crimes (murder) while other sins are not against the law (adultery). A sin is an action which is deliberate and intended. These can damage our relationship with God. If left unchecked, they can damage our relationship for eternity – Hell.
