Driving Test

Parallel Parking Steps:

  1. Signal & Position Your Car

    • Use your right turn signal to indicate you’re parking.

    • Pull up parallel to the space about 2-3 feet away from the cones.

    • Align your rear bumper with the first cone.

  2. Reverse & Turn Right

    • Put the car in reverse and turn your steering wheel fully to the right.

    • Slowly back up while checking your mirrors and looking over your right shoulder.

  3. Straighten Out

    • Once your car is at a 45-degree angle (when your back right tire is near the curb/cones), straighten the wheel while continuing to reverse.

    • Keep an eye on the lines and make sure you're inside them.

  4. Reverse & Turn Left

    • When your front bumper clears the back cone, turn your wheel fully to the left while slowly backing in.

    • Keep checking your surroundings and adjust as needed.

  5. Stop & Adjust if Necessary

    • If needed, you have three forward and three reverse movements to correct your position.

    • Stay within the lines, and you can touch the curb but NOT knock over cones.

  6. Finish & Straighten Your Wheels

    • Once properly in the space, straighten your wheels.

    • Put the car in park and check surroundings before proceeding.

Use your blinkers when pulling into the spot.
Make complete stops at all stop signs for 3-5 seconds.
Turn your head physically both ways when checking traffic.
Keep both hands on the wheel the entire time.
