Admission Requirements for BDS Program (AY 2025-26)

1. Educational Background

   • Minimum of 12 years of school education is required.

2. English Language Proficiency

   • Must pass one of the following tests with minimum scores:

     • TOEFL iBT: 61

     • IELTS (Academic): 5.0

     • Other approved equivalencies as recognized by the Ministry.

   • Valid English proficiency score is mandatory before admission.

3. Equivalency Certificate

   • Non-UAE educational system applicants must submit an Equivalency Certificate from the Ministry of Education, UAE.

   • Without it, students get conditional admission and must meet general admission requirements.

Specific Requirements Based on Education Systems

• Country Education System and Minimum Grade Requirements:

  • UAE:

    • Elite track: 80%

    • Advanced track: 85%

    • Must complete Mathematics and any two Science subjects (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).

  • India (CBSE/ICSE):

    • Minimum score of 55% in the 12th Grade.

  • Pakistan/Bangladesh:

    • Minimum score of 55% in the 12th Grade.

  • UK (IGCSE/GCE):

    • Minimum grades:

      • 'C' in all O Level subjects

      • Two 'D' grades in AS level in two Science subjects.

  • International Baccalaureate:

    • Minimum score of 24 points.

  • USA/SABIS:

    • Minimum score of 80%.

Additional Admission Criteria

4. Standardized Test Requirements

   • Pass with scores:

     • 50% in admission tests in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Multiple Mini Interviews (MMIs).

     • Alternatively, pass scores in approved proficiency tests:

       • AP Biology, AP Chemistry, SAT Math (minimum of 555).

• Score requirements reviewed by education system:

  • UAE/American system: 60% in Mathematics, 70% for any two Science subjects.

  • India/Pakistan/Bangladesh/Africa: 45-50% in Mathematics, 50% for two Science subjects.

  • British system (AS/A Level): ‘E’ grade in Mathematics and ‘C’ in any two Science subjects.

  • IB diploma: 3 for Mathematics, 4 and above for two Science subjects.

5. Personal Interviews

   • Meeting with admissions committee upon successful completion of the above requirements.

6. Evaluation

   • Assessment of cognitive and non-cognitive traits by the Admissions committee.

7. Remedial Courses

   • Non-credit remedial courses are available for applicants lacking sufficient science background.

8. Final Decisions

   • The decision of the Admission Committee is final and binding.

9. Special Needs Applications

   • Open to students needing special attention, reviewed by the admissions committee.
