The production of new plants from a single parent without the involvement gametes is called Asexual Reproduction. No seeds are formed in Asexual Reproduction. The Plants produced are exactly identicaI to the parent plant.

• When it matures it breaks up into two fragments, each then forms new Spirogyra

• The breaking up of body of a plant into two or more fragments where each fragment grows and Matures to form a new plant.
