HVAC Guidelines for IT Spaces
- Temperature: 70−74∘F (≈ 21−23∘C).
- Humidity: 40−70% to mitigate ESD.
- Use separate or dedicated HVAC ducts for server rooms; positive pressure preferred (forces air out, blocks dust/smoke).
- Add intake filters in dusty/smoky environments.
Interference & Magnetic Fields
- EMI: motors, fluorescent lights; mitigate with STP cabling or fiber.
- RFI: 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi vulnerable to cordless phones/microwave; switch channel or move to 5 GHz.
