Paper 1

Question 1 . 6-7 minutes

A) 3 marks

1. Identify information in the question

2. Read through the sources and Highlight the relevant information

3. Paraphrase the main point in a complete response

- Two referenced points (Do not quote)

- ‘This implies’ statement regarding the source.

B) 2 marks

1. What those the creater imply?

2. Identify 2 ideas from the source (That are differentiated)

3. Explain what the source suggests and how you see that.

Question 2

4 marks

1. Identify what the question is asking and the POC

   Origin - who, when, where?

   Purpose - why was it made? To persuade? Inform? Argue?

   Context - What does the source say about the topic?

2. Highlight anything that tells us about the POC ,Differentiate if it makes the source Valuable or Limiting

3. Use 2 values and 2 limitations with basic explanations (3 if possible)

Talk about Limitations first then Values in one paragraph with short quotes from the source

Question 3

6 marks

Compare and contrast the context

3 points of comparison (paragraph 1) and 3 points of contrast (paragraph 2)

- Include Transitional/Connective phrases

- Find bare bone comparisons

- Include short quotes/paraphrase to to support points

Question 4

9 marks

An evaluative question that uses a combination of own knowledge and all sources (make notes around the sources before hand for this question)

1. Write an introduction to outline paragraphs and main arguments (Should me 2 sentences)

2. 2 body paragraphs with the PEEL structure (RS gcse 12 marker style)

3. Mention your own knowledge first

   • Ensure equal balance between arguments

   • Use short quotes/paraphrase

   • Directly mention the sources

   • Do not use personal pronouns

4. Sum it up in a conclusion with an opinion
