- Effective Date: 11/16/22.

Definition of Regular Sick
- Regular Sick: Defined as a sick excusal for a Uniformed Member of the Service who either is not eligible for administrative sick or explicitly declines administrative sick.
- Mandatory Requirement: Regular sick requires a visit to the Department surgeon.
- Standard Reporting Protocol: The UMOS is required to report to their assigned District Surgeon at the next regular office hours, unless a specific exception applies.
Exceptions to Standard Reporting Requirements (CUF'D+)
There are five specific conditions under which a UMOS does not report to their assigned District Surgeon. These are summarized by the mnemonic CUF'D+:
- C - Chronic Absent - Category B: * Members designated as Chronic Absent - Category B must report to the Medical Division, specifically the Special Medical District or the Confidential Medical District, at the next regular office hours.
- U - Unable to Travel: * If a member is physically unable to travel, they must remain at their place of confinement. * The member must notify the Sick Desk Supervisor regarding their inability to travel.
- F - Friday or Saturday Reporting Sick: * Members who report sick on a Friday or a Saturday are required to report to the Medical Division's Weekend Surgeon. * The reporting time is set for 1000 hours the following day.
- D - Dental Problems: * Members experiencing dental issues will not follow standard reporting but will instead be guided by instructions from the Sick Desk Supervisor or a designated member regarding specific reporting requirements.
- + - Medical Division Supervisor Direction: * A member is exempt from standard District Surgeon reporting when specifically directed otherwise by a Medical Division supervisor.
Required Procedures for Uniformed Members of the Service (UMOS)
When a UMOS determines they are unable to perform duty due to illness, injury, or any other physical or psychological condition, the following steps must be taken:
- Notification of Medical Division Sick Desk: * The member must notify the Medical Division Sick Desk directly to initiate the process. * The member must obtain a unique sick serial number during this notification.
- Reporting Changes in Contact Information: * The member must inform the Medical Division Sick Desk of any change relating to their address, current location, or telephone number.
- Documentation and Recording: * The member is required to obtain the name of the Sick Desk member they spoke with. * The member must record the exact time the notification was made.
- Verification to Command: * The UMOS must provide the obtained sick serial number to the Desk Officer or Supervisor at their assigned command to ensure the absence is properly recorded at the unit level.
