prosencephalon → forebrain, cerebral hemispheres, thalamus

mesencephalon → midbrain

Rhombencephalon → hind brain, medulla oblongata, cerebellum, pons

germinal layers - manle, marginal, ???

notochord response - sonic hedgehog protein, causes neural plate formation. Incorporated in the vertebral coloumn.
