Taoism

  • Core idea: live simply & selflessly in harmony with the TaoTao (universal order)

Confucianism

  • Emphases: filial piety, ritual, learning, self-control, just social action

  • Became imperial ideology; influenced Taoism & Buddhism

Hinduism

  • Principal faith of India; centered on BrahmanBrahman – eternal, infinite source of all
