Finding Surface Area of Prisms
Formulas of Prisms
Rectangular Prism
Surface Area: SA=2lw+2lh+2whSA=2lw+2lh+2wh
Sphere
Surface Area: SA=4πr2SA=4πr2
Cone
Surface Area: SA=πr2+πrlSA=πr2+πrl
(where ll = slant height)
Triangular Prism
(area of triangle × length of prism)
Surface Area: SA=bh+(s1+s2+s3)LSA=bh+(s1+s2+s3)L
Cylinder
Surface Area: SA=2πr2+2πrhSA=2πr2+2πrh
Fraction to Decimal
Divide the numerator by the denominator, so 3/4 = 3 divided by 4
Multiplying Decimals
Ignore the decimal point and treat it like a whole number, so 0.3 x 2 will be 03 x 2. Afterwards, count the numbers before the decimal point and that how much places you will move it to the left for your final answer.
Multiplying Fractions
Convert fractions to decimals and follow the proccess to multiply decimals.
Units
R = Radius
L = Length
π = pi /3.14
SA = Surface Area
