Physical Security

Site Security - overall security within a building.

• Three main areas:

  • External perimeter: fences, guards, gates, and security cameras

  • Internal perimeter - immediate area inside of a building

  • Secure areas:

    • Server room: have separate locks and a restricted list of people who can access the room.

• If the area to secure is a campus full of buildings, the buildings within the campus represent the internal perimeter.

Multiple layers of security = defense in depth
