norms- the unwritten rules that teach us how to act

Values- a cultures standard for discerning what is good and just in society

Culture- shared beliefs, values and practices that participants in a society must learn

Value consensus- societies agreement on values

Socialisation- the way you acquire the norms and values of your culture/society

Gender role socialisation- the process of learning the social expectations and attitudes associated with ones sex

Primary socialisation- when and where you first learn the norms and values of society

Secondary socialisation- developing your understanding of norms and values of society
