Main reasons the British freed slaves:

Slaves were freed because of humanitarian reasons, as slavery was wrong and all human beings should be free.

-Slaves were free due to economic reasons as they would get paid for their work.

-These workers would contribute towards building the economy.

Two reasons why some missionaries became traders:

To make money and to get basic goods through trade.

The influence the missionaries had on the local people:

-Missionaries.converted the local people to follow the religion of Christianity.

-Educated the locals so they could study the bible.

-Missionaries wanted the locals to be more like the Europeans with their customs and dressing.
