Survey Observations

HT Network

• 33/11 KV Substation found with conventional outdoor type, 33KV outdoor and 11KV Indoor
• Major 33 & 11 kV network is OH with 33 KV line on DOG/Raccoon conductor & 11 KV on Rabbit/weasel conductor.
• Multiple OH lines on both sides of the road with composite and dilapidated network with poor jumpers.
• Network on Tubular & PCC poles, very few new tubular poles found recently installed under RDSS scheme.
• Very few of the network is with XLPE cables in OH and UG.
• Unsafe HT & LT clearance at many places.

Distribution Transformer

• Pole/Pad mounted DTs with poor condition
• No isolation devices used viz. DL and GOD
• DTs precariously installed on DP structures
• HT Protection: Fuses fastened on DT Bushings
• LT Protection: Fuse wires on stud type arrangement (Tail-lash)
• Fencing broken/missing/poorly maintained
• DT found placed on Ground with damage/without fencing.

LT Network

• Most of the network is with AB cable, bare OH and insulated conductor on PCC and Tubular Pole
• HT/LT Composite poles at many places
• ABC/LT insulated conductor found in few locations completed newly under RDSS scheme
• Network condition is Old dilapidated with poor general condition
• Multiple runs of LT AB cable (upto 8 ckt) on same pole.
• Unsafe clearance with power lines at many places

Service & Meter

• Black twin flat wire used for services, at few location found armoured too.
• Meters on Indoor/outdoor locations

Survey Outcome

• Highly Dilapidated network.
• Multiple DTs at same locations, e.g. two or more on single DP structure or same plinth/ placed in a very unsafe manner without fencing.
• Extensive Network maintenance required for supply reliability improvement.
• Unsafe clearances of 11 KV/LT lines.
• Gradually 33 KV Substation and DTC may be revamped/augmented as per requirement.
• Rural locations are having vast geographical area with long HT/LT Network.
• Jhansi, Banda, Mahoba, Lalitpur are rocky and plateau areas.
• Meter revamping required at vast level.
• DTC conditions are poor.
• Loss reduction plan to be considered in theft prone areas.
