  1. Parallelism → same shape of sentence parts.

  2. Isocolon → same pattern and same length.

  3. Antithesis → opposite ideas put side by side in a balanced way.

  4. Anastrophe → flip the word order around.

  5. Parenthesis → throwing in an interrupting thought.

  6. Apposition → extra info right after something.

  7. Ellipsis → leaving out obvious words.

  8. Asyndeton → leaving out and, or, but.

  9. Polysyndeton → using too many ands/ors.

  10. Alliteration → same first letter/sound repeated.

  11. Assonance → repeating vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u).

  12. Anaphora → repeat at the beginning of sentences/clauses.

  13. Epistrophe → repeat at the end of sentences/clauses.

  14. Epanalepsis → start and end a sentence with the same word.

  15. Anadiplosis → last word of one clause = first word of the next.

  16. Climax → list things in order of importance.

  17. Antimetabole → flip the exact same words backwards.

  18. Chiasmus → flip the structure, but not the exact words.

  19. Polyptoton → same root word, different endings.
