Eye Anatomy
Pupil: the pupil is where light enters
Iris: it contains muscles and changes the size of the pupil
Lens: focuses the light entering the eye
Retina: receives light that the lens has focuses and converts the light into neutral signs
Cornea: outside part that protect the outside of the eye
Optic nerve: Carrys the messages to the brain
Transparent: let's most light through
Translucent: only let's some through
Opaque: no light can pass through
How Shadows are created
Shadows are created when an Opaque object block out light rays and create a dark area where light rays don't reach
Light rays travel for straight lines
Whats a concave mirror ?
Concave mirror reflects inwards towards a point called the focal point and as the rays get closer and meet they are called converging rays
Whats a convex mirror
Convex mirrors reflect light outwards and the focal point of a convex mirror is behind the mirror, as the rays separate we call them diverging rays
The law of reflection
The law of reflection is that the angle of incident and the angle of reflect are always the same
Refraction
Refraction is the bending of light as it passes through one substance that is transparent to another one
Visible light spectrum
Red,orange,yellow,green,blue,indigo,violet
Violet has the highest energy
Red has the least amount of energy
Filters
Filter substract or absorb different colors of light
A Red filter blocks out all colors but red and yellow filter blocks blocks all colors but yellow
Electromagnetic spectrum
Radiation
Electromagnetic Radiation is why light forms a energy
All Radiation consists of electromagnetic and light is one of them
Radio waves are normally super low but are also useful with things like TV, wifi and radio
Microwaves
microwaves contain lows energy but are useful when it comes to cooking and contain long wave lengths
Infrared
Infrared have and use longer wave lengths from (700mm to 1mm) And posses lower frequencies and lower energy than visable light
X-rays
Xray have high energy and can see through skin and reveals images of bones
Gamma rays
Gamma rays have higher energy than x-rays
Ultra Violet
Ultra violet have high energy are harmful to humans cause sun burns and is used to sterile to equipment
Ultra violet : UVC,UVB,UVAC are high energy
