Market Positioning Strategies:

  • Product Attributes- presenting a specific feature of your product since it’s unique(e.g. Apple marketing it’s camera since it’s better)

  • Benefits Offered - emphasizing the INTANGIBLE benefits of the product to customers

  • User Classes - once someone uses the product, they become a certain kind of people(someone wearing a Rolex will make you think the person’s rich)

  • Product Classes - putting the product within a certain category

  • Against Competitors - you market the product the same way another company does

    • highlights the unique selling points when doing so

  • Away from Competitors - looking for a different way to market your products(e.g. Tesla markets their electric cars, but they focus on the environmental aspect more compared to other companies)

  • Usage Occasions - positioning the product on when and how it’s used(e.g. Gatorade is highlighted as a sports drink)
