Die Meisie op die Dak
Hoofstuk 1:
Hoofkarakter = Estelle.
Nuwe, aaklige, giggelgeel kombuis.
Ma is skaam om met ryk mense te bly.
Toer die nuwe huis.
Daar is drie slaapkamers.
Die huis is baie vuil.
Eerste kamer het bloed op die mat.
Badkamer is seegroen en pienk.
Ry ‘n Mercedes-vier-by-vier.
Sy dink haar familie lyk soos Nigeriese dwelmhandelaars.
Nie grasperk nie.
Daar’s nie ‘n boorgat.
Hulle se ou huis het groen gras.
Baie stot.
Sy maak die kamer skoon.
Sy hoop daar is nie spinnekoppe.
Sy is obsessief-kompulsief.
Sy wil huil.
Sy het haar Winter klere in haar ma sê kas sit.
Hulle eet pizza.
Die pizza mens weet nie wat ‘hoender’ is nie.
Slaap op matrasse op die vloer.
Hulle ou huis het vyf slaapkamers met hulle eie badkamers, ‘n swembad en jacuzzi en ‘n mooi kombuis.
Pa is in die tronk vir bedrog.
Sy huil voor sy slaap.
Sy gaan na Hoërskool Oorsdorp.
Main character = Estelle.
New, ugly, bright yellow kitchen.
Mom is shy for living with rich people.
Tour the new house.
There is three bedrooms.
The house is very dirty.
The first bedroom has blood on the carpet.
Bathroom is sea green and pink.
Drives a Mercedes four by four.
She thinks her family looks like Nigerian drug dealers.
No lawn.
No bore hole.
Their old house had green grass.
Very dusty.
She cleans the room.
She hopes there are no spiders.
She is obsessive-compulsive.
She wants to cry.
She put her Winter clothes in her mom’s cupboard.
They eat pizza.
The pizzaman doesn’t know what “hoender” is.
Sleeps on mattresses on the floor.
Their old house had 5 bedrooms with ensuites, a pool and jacuzzi and a beautiful kitchen.
Dad is in jail for fraud.
She’s cries before she sleeps.
She goes to Hoërskool Oorsdorp.
Hoofstuk 2:

Hulle uitpak.
Estelle is bang vir skool.
Haar beste vriend (Yvette) en ‘amper-kêrel’ (JC) ignoreer haar.
‘n Swart kat loop in.
Estelle dink dit was ‘n skrikwekkend harige ding.
Sy gee melk vir die kat.
Hulle gee die naam Cornelius vir die kat.
Hy slaap in Estelle se bed.
Estelle huil voor sy slaap.
The moving truck arrives.
They unpack.
Estelle is scared for school.
Her best friend (Yvette) and crush (JC) ignore her.
A black cat walks in.
Estelle thinks it’s a scary hairy thing.
She gives the cat milk.
They name the cat Cornelius.
He sleeps in Estelle’s bed.
Estelle cries before she sleeps.
Hoofstuk 3:
Haar ma het haar wakker maak voor die son uit was.
Sy drink koffie en sit haar radio aan.
Cornelius slaap op die vloer.
Iemand soek ‘n kat wat se naam is Magenta.
Dit is ‘Cornelius’.
Dit is ‘n seun, Estelle dink hy aantreklike is.
Hy vra of sy sy kat het gesteel het.
Estelle is bang almal in skool sal dink sy ‘n kat dief is.
Sy gee die kat vir hom.
Sy naam is Aiden.
Hy sê sy baie mooi is.
Sy doen haar rooibruin hare en gebruik maskara en lipgloss.
Sy is hoofmeisie.
Her mom wakes her up before the sun is out.
She drinks coffee and turns the radio on.
Cornelius sleeps on the floor.
Someone is looking for a cat named Magenta.
It is ‘Cornelius’.
It is a boy, Estelle thinks he is handsome.
He asks if she stole his cat.
Estelle is scared that everyone at school will think she is a cat thief.
She gives him the cat.
His name is Aiden.
He says she is pretty.
She does her red-brown hair and puts on mascara and lipgloss.
She is head girl.
Hoofstuk 4:
Graad agts = Sole.
Meneer Steyn = Skoolhoof.
Haar ma sê haar pa is nie ‘n misdadiger nie.
Nicolette praat met Estelle, sy is in die ‘Diva-Divisie’, hulle skinder baie.
Juffrou Du Plooy vra of Estelle wil nie hoofmeisie wees nie. Sy sê Lindiwe kon dit wees.
Sy praat met Meneer Steyn.
Aiden is nuut in die skool.
Die sole is die matrieks se slawe.
Die matrieks is koning en koningine vir die sole.
JC se van is Torien.
Die sole moet soos Grotmanne aantrek.
Iemand sê iets.
Dit was Rooi Rex Roux, hy het rooi hare.
JC sê Rex moet Estelle se bene meet met ‘n vuurhoutjie.
Estelle sien Aiden langs ‘n boom.
Estelle sit met Aiden na registerklas.
Nicolette en haar vriend praat oor Estelle.
Hulle se registerklas onderwyser is Juffrou Senekal.
Senekal = ou Sening.
Estelle en Aiden het soortgelyke klasse.
Grade eights = Sole.
Mr. Steyn = Principle.
Her mom says her dad isn’t a criminal.
Nicolette talks to Estelle, she is in the ‘Diva-Divisie’, they gossip a lot.
Mrs. Du Plooy asks of Estelle wants to not be head girl. She says Lindiwe can do it too.
She talks to Mr. Steyn.
Aiden is new to the school.
The sole are the matrics’ slaves.
The matrics are kings and queens to the sole.
JC’s surname is Torien.
The sole must dress like cavemen.
Someone says something.
It was Red Rex Roux, he has red hair.
JC says Rex must measure Estelle’s legs with matchsticks.
Estelle sees Aiden by a tree.
Estelle sits with Aiden in homeroom.
Nicolette and her friends talk about Estelle.
Their homeroom teacher is Mrs. Senekal.
Senekal = old ‘Muscle’.
Estelle and Aiden have similar classes.
Hoofstuk 5:
Sy eet worsbroodjies met haar ma vir middagete.
Praat oor net die gooie dinge in haar dag.
Sy sê dat Aiden is ‘n nuwe mens in die skool.
JC vra of sy sokkie wil gaan op Vrydag.
6-uur voor DNA, ‘n koffieplek.
Sy beplan haar klere vir Vrydag.
Magenta kom na die huis.
Gaan na Aiden se huis om die kat te gee.
Die huis is baie mooi, Aiden se ma moet ‘n perfeksionis wees.
Haar leweswetenskaponderwyser is Aiden se pa. Meneer Wessels, maar hy sê Estelle kan hom Oom Nico noem.
Sy gaan na Aiden se kamer, hy luister na Radiohead.
Aiden sit ‘n hoop klere onder sy bed.
Aiden het baie sketse op die muur, daar is baie van een meisie.
Estelle en hom lees dieselfde boeke.
Aiden sê hy bly hier lank, hy het na Hoërskool Bergkruin gegaan voor sy pa het werk by sy nuwe skool gehad.
Aiden gaan nie na sokkie nie.
Aiden klink vreemd agter Estelle sê JC vra of sy sal met hom saam gaan.
Aiden stap met haar huis toe.
She ate hotdogs with her mom for lunch.
She talks about only the good parts of her day.
She says that Aiden is a new person at the school.
JC asks if she wants to go to the sokkie (dance thing) on Friday.
At 6pm by DNA, a coffee shop.
She plans her clothes for Friday.
Magenta comes to the house.
She goes to Aiden’s house to give the kat.
The house is pretty, Aiden’s mom must be a perfectionist.
Her Life Science teacher is Aiden’s dad. Mister Wessels, but he says Estelle can call him Uncle Nico.
She does to Aiden’s room, he’s listening to Radiohead.
Aiden puts a pile of clothes under his bed.
Aiden has lots of sketches on the wall, there is a lot of one girl.
Estelle and him read the same books.
Aiden says he lived here for a while, he went to Hoërskool Bergkruin before his dad got work at the new school.
Aiden isn’t going to the sokkie.
Aiden sounds weird when Estelle says JC asked her to go with her.
Aiden walks her home.
