7.2 : Relationship between cities and rural areas

1. rural area have a lower population size and density

2. fewer function in rural area

3. rural and cities are connected in many countries by movements of people , goods and services

   Rural - Urban  migration 

   • people originally come from another location in their country before settling down are migrants.
   • common for people to move from rural area to cities this is called rural - urban migration
   • push factor is what makes migrant leaves

• pull factor is what attract the migrant towards destination

Provision of goods and services  

• cities rely on rural area for food supply
• cities does not have enough land space for agriculture activities
• rural farmer - rear animal crop - for own need for sell - exchange food product for money - money = income for them
