  1. Conscription: the draft

  4. The Directory: two houses was weak and only lasted 4 years 

  5. National Convention:had enough of robespierre and had him out to death

  6. Marat: radical voice of the jacobins

  7. Danton: called for the end of the reign of Terror

  8. Robespierre: leader of the powerful Jacobins movement

  9. Josephine de Beauharnais:  Leader of French society in 1796 who married Napoleon Bonaparte.

  10. Indemnity: payment for damages caused by war

  11. Reactionaries:people  who not only oppose change but want to undo certain changes

  12. Liberalism: extended the ideas of french/ American Revolutions

  13. Congress of Vienna: European powers wanted to restore order

  14. Talleyrand: represented france at the congress of vienna

  15. Prince Metternich: influenced european politics believed in absolutism

  16. Treaty of Adrianople (1829):Greece won its independence and nationalism was sweeping over europe.
