Overview of Exam Details

  • Exam Date and Time: This Wednesday at 08:30 AM in Art 366.

  • Location: Room Art 366 on the 3rd Floor.

  • Arrival Time: Aim to arrive fifteen minutes before the exam to avoid issues such as late arrival.

General Structure

    • Section 1: No Choice

Section 1:

  • Number of Questions: 2

  • Points: 10 points each (Total: 20 points).

  • Content: Questions related to concrete aspects of the novels, films, and visuals discussed in class.

  • Response Requirement: Answer both questions in one to two paragraphs.

Section 2:

  • Number of Questions: 5

  • Points: Choose 2 questions worth 10 points each (Total: 20 points).

  • Content: Similar to Section 1, focusing on specific aspects covered in class.

  • Response Requirement: Typically, students will need two paragraphs for each question.

Section 3:

  • Type of Question: Essay

  • Response Length: 5 to 8 paragraphs (5 paragraphs minimum, 8 paragraphs maximum).

  • Content: Broad open-ended question on course narratives. Must examine three narratives total:

    • Can include:

    • Novels

    • Short stories

    • One cinematic or television representation (film or episode).

  • Thesis Requirement: An introductory paragraph must present a clear argument supported by evidence in body paragraphs.

    • Intro and conclusion with three body paragraphs (minimum structure).

    based on lectures and materials discussed.

  • Response Format: Double-space responses, use pen or pencil (pen preferred).

  • Grammar and Spelling: Will not be considered for marking; however, clarity is needed for effective argumentation.
