Nouns and Articles
All nouns have a gender in Spanish. This is usually indicated by the end of the word, if not the article will indicate it.
Feminine Suffixes: “a”, “dad”
Masculine Suffixes: “o”, “ma”, “pa”
Exceptions: la mano, la foto, and la moto are all feminine
Common suffix-free expectations:
Masculine: el cine - the cinema, el papel -the paper, el banquet -the banquette, el sol -the sun, el avi-on -the airplane
Feminine: la estupidez -the stupidity, la laccion -the lesson, la direccio-n -the direction, la actitud -the attitude, la costumbre -the custom
When plural nouns ending in vowels, end with an “s”, when a consonant ends with an “es”
