Panic Button Software Testing Procedure
Monthly Testing Requirement
Users are required to test the panic button software once a month.
A test box appears at a scheduled time:
Reminds users to conduct the test.
Offers options to test now or be reminded in five minutes.
Customizable Settings
The timer for reminders is customizable by the Lynx administrator.
Testing Procedure
Upon selecting "test now":
A testing wizard screen appears:
Displays an image of a keyboard.
Indicates which keys need to be pressed for the test.
Users have thirty seconds to press and release both keys.
Handling Failures
If the user fails to press the correct keys within the time limit:
Options are provided:
Retry the test.
Acknowledge the failure.
Successful Completion
Upon successfully pressing the correct key combination:
A green check mark indicates a successful test.
A notification appears by the system tray:
Informs the user that the software is in testing mode and did not trigger a real alarm.
Location Verification
After the test is completed, the user verifies their location:
If the location is correct:
User clicks "yes, this location is correct" to finish.
If the location is incorrect:
User clicks "no, this location is incorrect"
Prompts user to enter the correct location and a reachable phone number for security personnel.
Completion of the Test
Clicking "next" followed by "finish" completes the entire test process.
The entire testing procedure should take approximately one minute.
Reporting
Any failures during the test are recorded in a report accessible by the Lynx administrator.
