Study Notes on Conditional Statements and Salary Increments

Conditional Statements

Salary Increment Policy

  • Objective: Management's intention to conduct salary increments based on specific geographic criteria.
  • Details on Salary Increments by Location:
    • Brazilian employees will receive a 15% increment on their salaries.
    • US employees will receive a 12% increment on their salaries.
    • Chinese employees will receive a 13% increment on their salaries.

General Increment Calculation

  • Scope: Calculating a general increment for all departments except Finance and Accounting.
  • Formula for General Increment:
    • All other departments receive a x% raise, where x is to be determined.

Total Salary Calculation

  • Goal: Calculate the total salary earned after all increments for all individuals.
    • Formula:
    • Total Salary = Initial Salary + Increment (termed as % Raise, which varies based on location)
    • Incorporate bonus adjustments where applicable.

Bonus Column Utilization

  • Utilize the Bonus column to determine additions to the salary range.
  • Procedure:
    • If the bonus for an employee is equal to zero, display 17 as the total salary (in this context, 17 might refer to a predefined figure or placeholder).
    • If a bonus is present, display the total as the employee's salary plus the bonus.

Conditional Formatting

  • Use of Conditional Formatting:
  • Apply conditional formatting in terms of direction to show the pattern of salary increments visually.
  • Purpose: Enhancing readability and making it easier to identify patterns in salary distribution after increments and bonuses are applied.
