Maternal Virtual Clinical Overview

Group A Schedule:

Assigned Patients:
Each group is assigned two different patients.

Workflow and Sequential Requirements
Pre-briefing Component:
Just like in a Physical Simulation (Sim) or a traditional clinical, there is a mandatory pre-briefing assignment.

Gating Mechanism: The patient modules will not unlock until the pre-briefing questions are submitted. This must be the first step completed.
Module Completion:
Students must go through the entire case for each patient.
Verification: Upon completion of each module in ATI, a transcript is generated. This transcript serves as the official proof of completion and must be uploaded to the corresponding submission box.
Post-Clinical Debriefing:
At the conclusion of the clinical day (which is treated as a "free day" from the physical hospital to complete these tasks), a combined Debrief and Reflection assignment is required.
This involves answering questions related to the clinical experiences of the day and discussing them (referenced as talking to Patrick).
Specific Documentation and Deliverables
Client Report Sheet:
This mimics the standard report sheet used in a physical clinical setting.
Required data points include: Room number, allergies, and other pertinent patient identifiers.
Instructions: If a specific data field (e.g., a certain allergy or room detail) does not apply to the virtual patient, students may leave it blank or mark it as DNA (Does Not Apply).
Medication Concept Map:
Requirement: Students must select one medication that they administered to the patient during the simulation to create a concept map.
Focus: This is specifically medication-based and intended to deepen the student's understanding of the drug's application.
Example: If a patient is being treated for Postpartum Hemorrhage, a student might choose oxytocin or another related medication for their map.
Format: The instructor allows these to be handwritten (provided the handwriting is legible) or completed digitally. It should be concise but informative.
Submission Formatting:
There are separate submission boxes for every component of the assignment.
