FILM SHOTS:

- Composed of series of frames that are shot uninterrupted

  • Types of Camera Shots:

    • Wide Shot - intended to the place

    • Long Shot- show the relationship of the character and the environment

    • Medium Shot (MS)- waist shot

    • Cowboy Shot (American Shot)- a bit larger than medium shot, mid-waist to right above their head.

    • Tight Close Up- actor’s face and shoulders

    • Detail Extreme Close Up (ECU)- only showing the eyes

    • Low - angle shot, camera looks up

    • High - camera looks down

    • Dutch- tilt

    • Over the Shoulders - placed above the back of the shoulder and head of the subject.

    • Cutaway- interruption of a continuously filmed action by inserting the view of something else.

    • Establishing shot- overview of a setting
