Good Teaching Practices

  • Ask for permission to use a physical prompt and remember the power dynamic of the students/teach relationship

  • Your safety is important! Be smart about sharing contact information, where you meet for lessons etc.

  • Model the behavior that you want from your student

    • Be on time

    • Be present

    • Be aware of how you talk about yourself/your voice

  • Be aware of your language (good/bad, better/worse, unhealthy vs. Unsustainable)

    • Be specific in your feedback - that was much more dynamic, your resonance really shone through

  • Do not diagnose your students with medical conditions.

    • You are not a qualified therapist, ENT, Laryngologist or doctor

    • Its your job to listen and recommend but not diagnose
