1st Corinthians 8

  1. Eating/purchasing meat used by pagans

    1. Firstly, Christians should be guided by love, not knowledge

      1. Love edifies and grows a person

      2. Knowledge puffs up and swells

    2. Now, we know no other gods exist but our Lord, no matter how many people worship them.

    3. Some Corinths keep this in mind when eating the meat, but some have in their mind that the meat was actually for a real idol

    4. That doesn’t make the more aware ones better or the more conscious ones worse

      1. The food we eat does not make us more/less spiritual

    5. But be careful if what you eat becomes a stumbling block to you or those around you

    6. If one of weaker conscious sees you eating meat of an idol, then they will too with the wrong mindset

      1. Thus weakening them in Christ

    7. So, if you feel called to not eat the meat so your brother doesn’t fall, do not eat meat
