Body

Respiratory :

Respiratory : The group of organs and body parts that helps you breathe in oxygen and breathe out waste gases

  • How It Works :

    • Inhaling : You pull fresh air in through your nose or mouth

    • Traveling : The air goes down your windpipe (trachea) and through branching tubes (bronchi) into your lungs.

    • Gas Exchange : Inside tiny air sacs (alveoli) in your lungs, oxygen moves straight into your blood, while waste gas (carbon dioxide) moves out of your blood

    • Exhaling : You breathe out the carbon dioxide

  • Main Parts :

    • Nose and Mouth : Where air enters your body, getting warmed and cleaned.

    • Trachea (Windpipe) : The main pipe carrying air to your chest.

    • Lungs : The spongy, main organs that hold the air.

    • Diaphragm : A flat muscle below your lungs that moves down to pull air in and pushes up to let air out

  • Blood is a liquid that constantly moves through your body to deliver nutrients and oxygen, fight off germs, and carry away waste.

Blood is made of four main ingredients:

    • Red Blood Cells : These carry oxygen from your lungs to the rest of your body. They give blood its bright red color.

    • White Blood Cells : The body's defense force. They fight off infections, bacteria, and viruses.

    • Platelets : Tiny cell pieces that clump together to stop bleeding when you get a cut (forming a scab).

    • Plasma : A yellowish liquid that carries the cells, water, vitamins, and waste products through your blood vessels.

Excretion is the process of cleaning your blood and removing chemical waste from your body. If this waste isn't removed, it can become poisonous to you

  • The Kidneys (The Main Filters) : You have two bean-shaped kidneys in your lower back. Blood flows into them, and they filter out extra water, salt, and a chemical waste called urea

    • This waste becomes urine (pee), which travels to your bladder and leaves your body

  • The Lungs : When your blood drops off oxygen to your cells, it picks up a waste gas called carbon dioxide. The blood carries it back to your lungs so you can breathe it out.

  • The Skin : When you sweat, your skin releases extra water, salt, and small amounts of urea to help cool you down and remove waste.

  • The Liver : The liver breaks down toxins, old blood cells, and chemicals (like medicines)

    • It turns them into safer waste products that the kidneys or intestines can flush out
