Chapter 4-6

^^Chapter 4^^
  • Mornings on the island are relaxing. The afternoons are tiresome and causes all the boys to sleep. Nighttime is scary for the boys
    • The lighting really effects how the boys see something
  • Some boys notice strange images appear in the water. Piggy thinks these images appear because of the sun.
  • Fear for the “Beastie” grows
  • The littluns begin to occasionally get picked on by older boys on the island
  • Two boys named Roger and Maurice tormented the littluns
  • Jack starts to grow this "compulsion” for killing a pig
  • Jack and Piggy spotted a ship but could not re-build the signal fire quick enough
  • Ralph’s distaste for Jack grows because he wasn’t making sure is hunters were watching the signal fire
  • Jack and his hunters catch the pig
  • Piggy gets slapped by Jack because he complained about the hunters being childish
  • After arguing with Ralph, Jack apologizes for not watching the signal fire
^^Chapter 5^^
  • Ralph calls the meeting to scolds the boys for ignoring their group rule’s and responsibilities
  • Ralph, Jack, & Piggy agree that beastie isn’t real
  • One of the littluns announces that he has actually seen a beast and that

  it might come up from the ocean at night. This causes a wave of fear falls over the boys.

  • Ralph considers giving up on being a leader. Piggy and Simon reassure him that he is needed to guide the boys.
^^Chapter 6^^
  • The boys miss another option to be saved by some planes because the boys who were supposed to watch the fire fell asleep
  • A dead parachutist drifts down from the sky onto the island
  • Sam and Eric wake up and they see the twisted form of the dead parachutist and mistake the figure for the beast all the littluns feared
  • Ralph calls for a meeting, at which the twins reiterate their claim that a monster attacked them.
  • All the boys get angry and prepare to hunt for monsters on the island and Ralph allows Jack to lead the search as the group sets out.
  • Ralph and Jack explored a uncharted area on the island
  • Ralph and Jack begin to bond just like their last adventure on the first night on the island
  • The other boys begin to play games and Ralph angrily reminds them that they are looking for the beast
