✅ 1. Questions with “do/does” (Present Simple)

Structure:
🟢 Do/Does + subject + base verb?

Est-ce que tu joues au foot ?

Est-ce qu’ils vivent à Londres ?

🧠 Grammaire :
Utilisez do pour I/you/we/they et does pour he/she/it. Le verbe principal reste à l’infinitif sans "to".

✅ 2. Questions with “are/is” (Present Continuous)

Structure:
🟢 Am/Is/Are + subject + verb-ing?

Est-ce que tu es en train d’étudier l’anglais ?

Est-ce qu’il travaille maintenant ?

Are they watching TV?

Est-ce qu’ils regardent la télé ?

🧠 Grammaire :
Utilisez be (am/is/are) selon le sujet + verbe en -ing pour décrire une action en cours.

✅ 3. Wh- Questions with verbs

Structure:
🟢 Wh- word + do/does + subject + verb?

🧠 Grammaire :
Les mots interrogatifs (What, Where, When, Why, How…) vont avant "do/does", puis on suit la structure normale.

✅ 4. Questions in the Past (Did)

Structure:
🟢 Did + subject + base verb?

Did you go to school yesterday?

Es-tu allé(e) à l’école hier ?

Did she eat breakfast?

A-t-elle pris son petit-déjeuner ?

What did they do last weekend?

Qu’ont-ils fait le week-end dernier ?

🧠 Grammaire :
Avec "did", le verbe reste à la base (infinitif sans "to"), même si l'action est au passé.

✅ 5. Questions with “can” (Ability / Permission)

🧠 Grammaire :
Après can, utilisez toujours la base verbale (pas de -s ou -ing).



Games to Practice Question Forms

1. 🎤 Question Tennis

How to play:

  • In pairs or small groups, students “hit” questions back and forth like a tennis game.

  • One student asks a question (e.g., Where do you live?), the next answers and asks a new one.

  • If a student hesitates too long or makes a grammar mistake, they lose a point.

  • You can limit it by topic: daily routine, school, hobbies, etc.

Skills: fluency, grammar accuracy, spontaneity

2. 🕵 Guess Who / What Am I?

How to play:

  • One student thinks of a famous person, classmate, or object (can be silently chosen).

  • Others ask yes/no questions to guess: Is it a woman?, Is it something you eat?, etc.

  • The student can only answer yes or no.

Skills: yes/no questions, logic, vocabulary

3. ❓ Wh- Question Hot Potato

How to play:

  • Students pass an object (or just clap hands) around the circle while music plays or a timer runs.

  • When it stops, the student holding it has to make a correct Wh-question (What, Where, When, Why, Who, How...) for another student to answer.

  • If they make a mistake, they repeat or try again.

Skills: WH-question formation, creativity, pressure-speaking

4. 🧠 Find Someone Who…

How to play:

  • Students walk around the room asking present simple or past simple questions to classmates.

  • Example: Do you play an instrument?, Did you watch TV last night?

  • The goal is to find classmates who match a list of prompts.

Skills: forming real-life questions, interaction
