\ One of the main goals of our government is to meet the education needs of its citizens. The policy of our goverment to provide the educational needs of the citizens is stated in the 1987 Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines, Article XIV - Education:

  • Section 1: The State shall protect and promote the right of all citizens to quality education at all levels and shall take appropriate steps to make such education accessible to all.
  • Section 2: The State shall establish, maintain, and support a complete, adequate, and integrated system of education relevant to the needs of the people and society. The system of education shall include elementary, secondary, and tertiary levels, as well as technical and vocational education.
  • Section 3: All educational institutions shall be under the supervision of the State, and the State shall exercise reasonable supervision and regulation over all educational institutions, including private institutions. Educational institutions shall be non-sectarian and shall offer quality education to all students, regardless of race, religion, gender, or ethnicity.

\ Department of Education - the agency of the executive branch of the government that regulates and manages the educational system of the public and private schools in the Philippines. It is responsible for the administration of basic education, which includes elementary and secondary education.

Commission on Higher Education - Managing colleges and higher education in universities.
