Using sound elicitation techniques, describe steps needed to produce sounds (airflow, voicing, placement)

  • /p/ lips together and pop them, /b/ same but turn your voice on

  • /t/ tongue behind your teeth on the bumpy spot, tap it with your tongue. Add your voice for /d/

  • /s/ tongue in same spot at /t/, teeth together (like a cage), edges of tongue are elevated. /z/ add voice

  • /k/ yawn and block the throat with the back of your tongue, quickly release almost like a tap

  • /f/ bite your lip and blow

  • /th/ stick your tongue on the edge of your teeth and blow

  • /sh/ round your lips/blow a kiss, blow, scrunch your tongue with the tip up

  • /r/ make an /l/ then slide your tongue tip back, look up strategies for this one. Bear growl “Grrr-rose, grrr-red”

Sound modification: using a sound that can be produced, modify it to create the target sound. Be able to describe these steps in an example

/t/ repeated turns into /s/

/d/ repeated turns into /z/
