Viroid
The smallest infectious pathogens known, consisting solely of a short strand of circular, single-stranded RNA without a protein coat.
Phytoplasmas
Specialized bacteria without cell walls that inhabit plant phloem tissue and are transmitted by insects.
Ascomycota
A phylum of fungi characterized by the production of spores in a sac-like structure called an ascus.
Oomycota
A phylum of fungus-like eukaryotic microorganisms, commonly known as water molds or oospores.
Conidium
A type of asexual fungal spore produced at the tip or side of a specialized hypha called a conidiophore.
Syndrome (Tünetcsoport)
A group of symptoms that consistently occur together to characterize a particular plant disease.
Epidemic (Járvány)
The rapid spread and development of a disease within a plant population over a specific period and area.
Apple mosaic virus (Ilarvirus, Bromoviridae)
A plant virus belonging to the Bromoviridae family that causes mosaic patterns on apple leaves.
Plum pox virus (Potyvirus, Potyviridae)
A devastating viral pathogen affecting stone fruits, belonging to the Potyvirus genus.
Tobacco mosaic virus (Tobamovirus)
A robust virus belonging to the Tobamovirus genus, known for infecting a wide range of plants, especially tobacco and other Solanaceae.
Ca. Phytoplasma solani
The pathogen responsible for stolbur disease in potatoes, peppers, and tomatoes.
Xylella fastidiosa
A Rickettsia bacterium responsible for Pierce's disease in grapes.
Agrobacterium tumefaciens
A bacterium that causes crown gall (gyökérgolyva) in apple trees.
Erwinia amylovora
The bacterial pathogen that causes fire blight (ervíniás elhalás) in apple and pear trees.
Xanthomonas axonopodis pv. phaseoli
A bacterium responsible for common bacterial blight in beans.
Plasmodiophora brassicae
A member of the Plasmodiophoromycota that causes clubroot (gyökérgolyva) in cabbage.
Phytophthora infestans
An Oomycete pathogen causing late blight (fitoftórás betegség) in potatoes and tomatoes.
Plasmopara viticola
An Oomycete pathogen that causes downy mildew (peronoszpóra) in grapevines.
Synchytrium endobioticum
A Chytridiomycota fungus that causes potato wart (burgonyarák).
Taphrina deformans
An Ascomycete fungus that causes peach leaf curl (tafrinás betegség).
Erysiphe necator
A chasmothecial Ascomycete fungus responsible for grape powdery mildew (szőlőlisztharmat).
Venturia inaequalis
A pseudothecial Ascomycete fungus that causes apple scab (ventúriás varasodás).
Monilinia fructigena
An apothecial Ascomycete fungus causing brown rot in apples, quinces, and various stone fruits.
Sclerotinia sclerotiorum
A fungus that causes watery soft rot (szklerotíniás rothadás) in wide variety of hosts including pepper, tomato, and carrot.
Gymnosporangium sabinae
A rust fungus (Basidiomycota) responsible for pear rust (körterozsda).
Septoria lycopersici
A mitosporic fungus (Deuteromycota) that produces pycnidia and causes Septoria leaf spot on tomatoes.
Botrytis cinerea
A widespread necrotrophic fungus causing grey mold in grapes, raspberries, strawberries, and many ornamental plants.
Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. dianthi
A fungus responsible for Fusarium wilt (fuzáriumos hervadás) in carnations.
Rhizoctonia solani
A fungus that does not typically produce conidia, known for causing damping-off (palántadőlés) in vegetables and ornamentals.
