Gutter Margin
A margin setting that adds extra space to the side or top margin of a document intended for binding.
Portrait Orientation
A page layout setting where the document is oriented vertically; it is the default for business correspondence in Word, often sized at 821×11 inches.
Section Break
A feature in Word that allows for different formatting across parts of a document; an even or odd numbered page section break starts the new section on the next corresponding page.
Tight Text Wrapping

Absolute Cell Reference
A cell reference denoted by the symbol(e.g.,A$1$$) that remains fixed and does not adjust when copied to another location.
Primary Key
A field in a database table in MS Access used to uniquely identify every record; it cannot be blank or contain duplicate values.
SQL
Structured Query Language; a standardized language used to retrieve (via SELECT), update, insert, and delete data from databases.
AIS
Annual Information Statement; a comprehensive statement used in the taxation process in India.
GST TRN
Goods and Services Tax Taxpayer Registration Number; a temporary number required during the GST registration process.
PPOB
Principal Place of Business; a required entry in the GST registration process in India.
HSN/SAC Codes
Codes used in the Goods and Services section of tax filing to classify various products and services specifically.
UAN
Universal Account Number; a unique 12 digit number used for EPF (Employee Provident Fund) registration.
ODBC
Open Database Connectivity; a standard application programming interface for accessing database management systems, used for importing data in CaseWare IDEA.
Benford's Law
A mathematical law used in auditing software like CaseWare IDEA to detect anomalies by identifying deviations from the expected frequency distribution of leading digits.
Stratified Sampling
A sampling method in CaseWare IDEA that ensures a sample is representative by dividing the population into sub-groups and sampling proportionally from each.
BRS
Bank Reconciliation Statement; a feature in Zoho Books and Tally used to align bank account transactions with internal accounting records.
