• If a dog bites a man, it's not that newsworthy. If a man bites a dog, well that's news.
Novelty
people with weird talents/ stories.
Feature stories
Important issues are debates/ at odds.
• We see this a lot with politics.
Could be a conflict between the school and a teacher/administration/student/ etc.
Protests/conflicts within the community.
Conflict/Controversy
Stories that pull at the heartstrings. Interesting and motivating.
