Accessory Gland

Paired glands are found in the reproductive tracts of both male and female insects, although their functions differ in the two sexes. In males, they produce substances to support the sperm and nuptial gifts; females use the glues and other substances to secure their eggs. In stinging insects, the accessory glands make venom.
