Tell me about yourself.

I’ve been working as a Project Development Officer for the City Government of Makati under the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, where I’ve spent the last five years leading creative and operational initiatives related to public communication, multimedia production, social media management, event execution, and project coordination.

My role goes beyond design work — I manage end-to-end communication campaigns, from conceptualization and scriptwriting to production, publishing, and quality assurance. I’ve also collaborated with multiple departments and stakeholders under high-pressure environments, especially during emergency-related public communication.

What excites me about this role is the opportunity to apply my public-sector communication experience in a highly respected educational institution that values leadership, innovation, and social impact.

Why do you want to leave government?

I’ve genuinely valued my experience serving the public sector, especially in disaster preparedness and community engagement. However, I’m now looking for an environment where I can further elevate my creative and strategic capabilities in branding, institutional storytelling, and multimedia leadership.

AIM’s focus on high-impact communication and educational transformation strongly aligns with the kind of meaningful work I want to continue doing.

Why AIM?

AIM has a strong reputation not only as a leading educational institution in Asia, but also as an organization focused on leadership, innovation, and societal impact.

I’m particularly drawn to the fact that AIM communicates complex ideas and institutional initiatives to diverse audiences — something I’ve also done extensively in disaster preparedness communication and public engagement.

I believe my experience in strategic communication, multimedia production, and stakeholder coordination can contribute meaningfully to AIM’s branding and communication goals.

What are your salary expectations?

Based on the scope of the role, my five years of integrated multimedia and communications experience, and current market rates for senior creative supervisory positions in Metro Manila, I’m targeting a salary in the ₱60,000 to ₱70,000 range, though I’m open to discussing the overall compensation package.

5

(If they say that my expected salary is above their budget for the role, but I want to negotiate and check if their budget is flexible.)

I understand budget considerations are important. Given the breadth of my experience — particularly in multimedia production, creative supervision, project coordination, social media management, and public communications — may I ask if there’s flexibility in the compensation range for candidates who bring a broader operational background to the role?

6
New cards

(If they still say the budget is fixed.)

I appreciate the transparency. Aside from the base salary, could you also share more about the overall compensation package, such as allowances, bonuses, HMO coverage, training opportunities, or performance-based increases?

7
New cards

(If I’m still interested but want to gently push once more.)

I’m genuinely interested in the role, and I believe my experience aligns strongly with what the team is looking for. If there’s any possibility of revisiting the compensation based on the value I can bring, I’d definitely be open to continuing the discussion.

(I’m okay with their salary offer: OPTION A)

Thank you for sharing the offer. The compensation package is within the range I was considering, and I’m comfortable with it. I’m genuinely excited about the opportunity and looking forward to potentially contributing to the team.

9
New cards

(I’m okay with their salary offer: OPTION B)

I appreciate the offer and the transparency throughout the discussion. The salary and overall package work well for me, and I’m very interested in the role and the opportunity to contribute my experience to the organization.

10
New cards

(I’m okay with their salary offer: OPTION C)

Based on the scope of the role and the overall package discussed, I believe the offer is fair and aligned with my expectations. I’d be happy to move forward with the next steps if given the opportunity.

Walk us through your creative process.

I usually begin with the communication objective first — identifying the audience, platform, urgency, and desired action. From there, I develop the concept, messaging direction, and visual approach.

In video projects, I typically handle script writing, shot planning, production coordination, editing, and final QA to ensure consistency and impact.

Since most government communications involve time-sensitive public information, I’ve learned to balance creativity with accuracy, clarity, and fast execution.

New cards

Tell us about a high-pressure project.

One example was during emergency response communications where we had to rapidly produce public advisories, social media updates, visual materials, and video content under tight deadlines.

In those situations, accuracy and speed were equally critical because misinformation could directly affect public safety.

I coordinated with operations teams, gathered verified information, produced multimedia assets, and ensured all materials remained aligned with official standards before release.

That experience strengthened my ability to work calmly under pressure while maintaining quality and consistency.

13
New cards

How do you handle multiple stakeholders with conflicting requests?

I prioritize alignment through early clarification of objectives, timelines, and approval processes.

In government projects, multiple departments often have different priorities, so I’ve learned to balance stakeholder expectations while protecting project timelines and communication quality.

I also believe transparency is important — when trade-offs or timeline adjustments are necessary, I communicate them early and professionally.

14
New cards

How do you ensure brand consistency?

I approach brand consistency through three areas: visual standards, messaging alignment, and quality control.

I usually establish clear templates, design systems, and review checkpoints before publishing. I also ensure that tone, typography, motion style, and messaging remain consistent across platforms.

In public communications, consistency builds trust, so I’ve developed strong attention to detail when reviewing outputs.

15

What software and tools are you strongest in?

My strongest tools are Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, and Canva. I’m particularly experienced in video editing, motion graphics, visual storytelling, and campaign asset development.

16
New cards

How would you improve engagement on AIM’s social channels?

I would focus on combining institutional credibility with human-centered storytelling. Educational institutions often become too formal online, so I’d look for opportunities to highlight student journeys, faculty insights, leadership stories, behind-the-scenes content, and visually engaging short-form videos while maintaining brand professionalism.

17
New cards

How do you lead creative teams?

I believe creative leadership requires both structure and trust. I like setting clear expectations, timelines, and quality standards while also giving team members enough creative ownership to contribute ideas.

I also value constructive feedback and collaborative problem-solving because strong creative output usually comes from healthy communication.

18
New cards

What would you bring to AIM?

I bring a combination of strategic communication experience, multimedia production expertise, and operational discipline developed in a high-pressure public service environment.

Beyond technical skills, I also bring experience managing urgent communication workflows, coordinating across departments, and producing audience-focused content with real-world impact.
