3 traits of meta rationalism

1. Visually and tectonically complex building envelopes which investigate patterns – pixelations ‐ perforations – punctures
2. Layered facades with patterns derived from geometric, historical, and/or abstracted biological/natural information; mapped onto and/or through rational form
3. Irregular 2D holes and/or 3D voids which subtract from and break up the rationality of the major form

When the outer layer of the façade sits outside the thermal envelope, providing aesthetical appeal and some weather screening, but exists as a double‐skin, with weatherproofing (air and moisture infiltration) moved to the inner layer.
