2-3 weeks, can stop treatment when it is gone

4-6 weeks (AKA two weeks past resolution)

1. Bacteria

Gold standard diagnosis of pyoderma
Cytology! Do not have to necessarily see intracellular bacteria
What is you see gram + cocci?
It's staph!
What if you see rods?
It's usually a chronic lesion
Treatment of pyoderma
Treat the primary cause!!!
Superficial pyoderma treatment
Topical therapy is preferred!
Deep pyoderma treatment
Systemic antibiotics
What antibiotic do you always avoid in derm?
PENICILLIN! Right to jail
