Aggression Continuum
A series of escalating behaviors indicating increasing levels of aggression.
Calm and Non-Threatening
Presenting in a manner that is non-agitated and respectful, functioning as 'another person in society.'
Verbally Agitated
A state in which a person expresses verbal anger not directed at any specific person or object.
Respecting Dignity
Listening to the person’s concerns and being compassionate to save their self-esteem.
Verbally Hostile
Behavior similar to verbal agitation but with anger directed over generalized statements, oblivious to calming efforts.
Maintaining Non-Threatening Posture
Keeping body language relaxed and avoiding aggressive gestures to respect personal space.
Verbally Threatening
A stage where a person focuses anger on a specific target, demands actions, and makes threats.
Defensive Posture
A stance taken to prepare for potential physical aggression or violence.
Physically Violent
A state where an individual attacks physically in some manner.
Cornering
To trap a person in a situation, which can be done through various dangerous methods including contact, angular, psychological, and exit cornering.
