making forward runs

communication

man marking

positioning (in possession

positioning (out of possession)

3
New cards

what are 6 physical attributes

speed

strength

agility

aerobic endurance

power

reaction time

4
New cards

describe dribbling as a strength and use theory to back it up

able to dribble past multiple players and keeps the ball close to their feet this could be due lots of varied and massed practice which helps to improve open skills and could have helped them to reach the autonomous stage of learning

5
New cards

describe dribbling as a weakness and use theory to back it up

unable to dribble past players losing the ball and unable to keep the ball close to their feet this could be due to them being in the associative stage of learning and they have not developed the motor programmes to be able to dribble past players without being tackled or losing the ball

6
New cards

describe individual control as a strength and use theory to back it up

good control of the ball due to operant conditioning when practicing in training a coach may have used positive reinforcement when they perform a good control they are rewarded with praise which strengthen the S+R bond this is also a type of extrinsic motivation

7
New cards

describe individual control as a weakness and use theory to back it up

bad control of the ball due to operant conditioning when practicing in training a coach may have used punishment when they perform a bad control they are punished by being dropped from the team this weakens the S+R bond a decrease in motivation intrinsic motivation

8
New cards

describe short passing as a strength and use theory to back it up

able to perform short passes to teammates consistently throughout the game this may be due to them having a highly effective ATP-PC system as they can resynthesise ATP quickly and perform quick short passes over and over through out the entire game

9
New cards

describe short passing as a weakness and use theory to back it up

unable to perform short passes to teammates throughout the game this may be due to them having a less adapted ATP-PC system as they cant resynthesise ATP as quick they cant perform short passes through out the entire game

10
New cards

describe long passing as a strength and use theory to back it up

the player applies an eccentric force underneath the balls centre of mass this causes it to backspin which reduces it flight path and causes it to have a parabolic shape which causing it to reach teammates without hooking or slicing it

11
New cards

describe long passing as a weakness and use theory to back it up

the player applies an eccentric force to the left of the balls centre of mass this causes it to slice which causes it to travel right and as a result it doesn’t reach the intended target of a teamate

12
New cards

describe shooting as a strength and use theory to back it up

the player is able take accurate shots which force the keeper to make saves and cause goal scoring opportunities this may be due a high levels of PC stores allowing the player to shoot harder and more frequently throughout the game

13
New cards

describe shooting as a weakness and use theory to back it up

the player is unable take accurate shots which often don’t have enough power to trouble the goalkeeper this may be due a low levels of PC meaning they cant repeatedly take shots

14
New cards

describe tackling as a strength and use theory to back it up

the player is able to use channelled aggression allowing them to make consistent tackles on opposition players without giving away fouls in vulnerable positions

15
New cards

describe tackling as a weakness and use theory to back it up

the player has high levels of aggression and is unable to channel it leading to them to make giving away fouls in vulnerable positions

16
New cards

describe speed as a strength and weakness and use theory to back it up

high density of fast glycolytic fibres allows the player to repeatedly sprint for balls for goal scoring opportunities this is due to the high density of PC within fast glycolytic fibres

17
New cards

describe strength as a weakness and use theory to back it up

the player is easily shouldered of the ball by the opposing team this may be due to a lack of weight training  leading to less adaptations such as muscular hypertrophy

18
New cards

describe strength as a strength and use theory to back it up

the player is able shield the ball from the opposing team this may be due to a lot of weight training leading to adaptations such as muscular hypertrophy

19
New cards

describe agility as a strength and use theory to back it up

The player is able to change direction at speed this may be due to lots of plyometric training which has caused adaptations such as stretch reflex desensitisation

20
New cards

describe agility as a weakness and use theory to back it up

The player is able to change direction at speed this may be due to lots of plyometric training which has caused adaptations such as stretch reflex desensitisation
