Partial Product
The answer obtained by multiplying the multiplicand by each individual digit of the multiplier before adding them together for the final product.
Product
The final answer obtained in a multiplication process by adding all the partial products.
Dividend
The number that is being divided in a division problem.
Divisor
The number by which the dividend is divided.
Quotient
The resulting answer to a division problem.
Remainder
The number that is left over if the division of whole numbers is not exact.
Short Division
A division method used when the divisor is a single-digit number.
Long Division
A division method used when the divisor has more than one digit.
Synonyms
Words that have the same, or nearly the same, meaning as other words in a language.
Root
The basic building block or part of a word from which longer and more difficult words are constructed.

Implied
A meaning that is not exactly stated in the text but is merely suggested by the author.
Inferred
A meaning derived by reasoning from stated ideas, often requiring logical thinking beyond what is explicitly written.
