Adalat in Shi’a Islam

Adalat means the justice of Allah. In Shi’a Islam, it is one of the Five Roots of Usul ad-Din and teaches that Allah is perfectly fair and never acts unjustly.

  • Allah always judges people fairly

  • humans have free will and are responsible for their actions

  • good is rewarded and evil is punished

  • suffering and injustice will ultimately be dealt with by Allah

encourages them to

  • encourages Muslims to treat others fairly

  • gives hope that injustice will not last forever
