What is feedback
Information that a Performer recieves during of after a performance about the success or quality of the skill or movement

Positive or negative
Knowledge of results or knowledge of performance
Extrinsic or intrinsic

Highlights when a performer has done well
Usually given after success
Helps motivate performers and build confidence
Disadvantages of positive feedback
Loses impact if used too often
Can become expected rather than earned if overused

Negative feedback
Focuses on mistakes or poor performances
usually given after failure
Can also be motivational by showing what needs to be improved

Can feel harsh or demotivating

Expert performers
Knowledge of results
Feedback about outcome or result
Shows whether the attempt was successful or not
Can come from others or internal feelings

Works best for beginners-they can be told simply if they were successful
Experts usually know the result without this feedback

Focuses on how the skill was performed
Checks whether the correct technique and action were used

Feedback that comes from an external source, usually a coach,family,teammate

Comes from the performer themselves
Also called kinaesthetic feedback
Gained through the proprioceptors in muscles
