Foward
This position cannot go past the center line into the defensive area. Their responsibility is to work with the center on offensive play. Also known as wings.

Defender
This position cannot go past the center line into the offensive area. Their responsibility is to keep the puck out of their half of the floor. They are the line in front of their own goalie.

Center
This position is allowed to move the length of the floor in a full game. They also can lead the offensive play, and help out on defense.

Goalie
This position is allowed to stop the puck from going into the net by using their hands, feet, or a stick. He or she attempts to block all shots on goal.

High Stick
Is a penalty when a player lifts the blade of the stick above their waist, winds up, or follows through when attempting a shot.

Hooking
Is a penalty when a player illegally uses the hockey stick to grab or pull another player.

Blade
Is the part of the hockey stick that is curved and used to hit the puck.

Stick Handling
Is performed when a player moves the puck from one location of the floor to another without losing possession.

Face Off
A floor hockey game STARTS with a faceoff and resumes the game after every goal

Stops
