Where digestion starts! Teeth break food into smaller pieces, and saliva begins breaking it down chemically.
Esophagus
A tube that moves food from your mouth to your stomach
Stomach
Mixes food with stomach acid and enzymes to turn it into a soup mx called CHYME
Small intestine
The main place where nutrients are absorbed in your blood

Colon
Large intestine
Absorbs water and forms solid waste (poo)
Rectum and anus

How do the digestive system and excretory system work together?
